Things to Do on a Date
Overview
Whether you are going on your first date or your 91st date, coming up with things to do can sometimes be frustrating. Planning activities for dates should be a fun and creative process, tailored to your specific interests. Keep an open mind and you can plan fun and exciting things to do on a date.
Step 1
Go for the classic date of dinner and a movie. Enhance the experience by seeing a film at an IMAX theater and eat dinner at an interactive style restaurant like a hibachi steakhouse or fondue restaurant. To calm nerves on a first date, you can see a movie first so you have something to talk about during dinner.
Step 2
Check your neighborhood and surrounding towns for plays, museum exhibits, flea markets or science centers. Learning together at a museum or science center really can be fun; it can help strengthen your similar interests and gives you memories to share. If you head to a flea market, set a 10-dollar limit and buy each other the silliest gifts you can find, or purchase vintage hats and accessories and flaunt them throughout the marketplace.
Step 3
Head to an amusement park or boardwalk. Amusement parks are chock full of entertainment and fun. Ride a roller coaster together, take pictures in a photo booth, visit a psychic or take a stroll through the fun house. On the boardwalk you can get triple scoop ice cream cones, play games for prizes like cute stuffed animals or take a romantic walk on the beach.
Step 4
Plan a night in. Rent a bunch of your favorite genre of movies like old comedies or a few horror flicks. Gather all of your favorite snack foods like popcorn and candy or order a pizza with your favorite toppings. You can play board games from childhood for the sake of nostalgia or even hook up an old video game system for that retro feel.
Step 5
Cook a meal together. Cooking together is a great way to bond and have some fun. Make something new and adventurous or stick to a classic like spaghetti and meatballs. Don't be afraid to make a mess and if the food comes out badly, you can always order takeout.
