Fun Group Date Ideas
Overview
Group dates are perfect for getting a circle of friends and their partners together. They also provide a great way for new couples to get to know each other in a low-pressure environment and present the perfect opportunity for setting up friends on blind dates. Even parents who don't want to let their teens date solo may suggest group dating as an appropriate alternative to going out alone.
Step 1
Write out your guest list. To plan a fun group date, you should take into account the interests and numbers of people you'll be inviting. For example, if your guest list is composed of people who are active and enjoy being outdoors, going white water rafting or mini-golfing may be fun. If the crowd prefers indoor, low-key activities a game night may work best. You'll also have to be sure that your location or activity can accommodate the number in your group.
Step 2
Get suggestions from the group. Send out a group email or make some phone calls and see what people are interested in doing together--and when they're available to do it. Throw out some suggestions like attending a show or sporting event, going into the city for dinner, planning a theme party or having a game night.
Step 3
Finalize your plans. After you hear back from people on your guest list, pick an activity that people showed interest in and the day that most were available to attend. Contact the venue or potential host of your event to see if they can accommodate your group. If they can, set your location, date and time in stone.
Step 4
Send out invitations for your group date. You can call, email or send out written or printed invitations by mail. Be sure to request an RSVP so that you can notify your venue or host of the final number of people who will attend. Include any information, like directions or what to bring so that people can prepare to attend the date.

tip
If you're having trouble deciding on what to do, take all of the suggestions from people on your list and send out an email asking people to vote on their favorite idea. This will take the blame off you if people complain that they don't like the date idea.
warning
Some people can't afford to spend a lot of money on dating, so you may want to suggest low-cost date ideas like a potluck dinner or hiking.
