Fun Date Ideas
Overview
So you've done the dinner and a movie date more times than you care to count. You've thought to yourself, "There's got to be something else I could do with my date that would be equally fun or even more so." Well, you would be right. In fact, some of the best dates happen when you break out of the mold and try something new. Plus, they give you something to talk about on your next date.
Step 1
Go for a hike. Most state and national parks have trails that are open to public, so just pick one that's suitable to your skill level. If you want to be extra romantic, bring a picnic lunch with you and maybe a bottle of wine -- but only if alcohol is allowed in the park. Hiking is not much fun in the rain, so make sure to check the weather.
Step 2
Visit a museum. Don't limit yourself to the typical art and science variety. If you're in Idaho, check out the International Potato Museum. In Cleveland, go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This will give you a great opportunity to learn more about your date's likes and dislikes, even if you've been together for years. You can also serve as tour guide if the museum is in your area of expertise. Check your local paper for upcoming exhibits.
Step 3
Get a couple's massage. Of course, this is not the most appropriate thing to do on a first date, but it's wonderful for a birthday or anniversary. You and your partner share a spa room and both get pampered at the same time. What is more fun than feeling relaxed and getting waited on? Plus, your partner may look silly in a seaweed wrap and eye mask, which will invariably lead to some laughs. Keep in mind that this can cost $100 or more.
Step 4
Spend an afternoon at the arcade. No matter how old you are, you can have a blast playing video games and skee ball and trying your aim at the shooting gallery. Getting a little competitive can help increase flirting potential, too, and maybe your date will win you an oversize stuffed animal. Dave and Busters is a great choice, because it caters to all ages. If you don't have one nearby, pretty much any arcade will do, though Chuck E. Cheese may be stretching it.

tip
If you ask your partner on the date, don't be surprised if he expects you to pay. This won't always be the case, but be sure to bring your wallet.
